I was also able to buy these items quickly (not instantly but quickly enough) at a price lower than the cost of alching and a nature rune. So some items going f2p was a possibility, including addy/rune boots. Main thought/logic was, however small the chance was, with mobile on the "horizon" there was a chance they'd improve f2p in some way for the influx of new players inevitably going to try out the game.None of the boots below addy even give str bonus either lol. I've personally never seen the point of any of the boots below rune, since climbing boots offer the same str bonus as rune and its not like its a ton of defense bonus. Last year around september (i think) I started stocking addy and rune boots because mobile was probably going to be out "soon"/by the new year (lol). Not much point to this response, but just a story. I have no idea how Jagex even checks for shit like this, and if anyone has even been banned for "price manipulation". Source (under the price manipulation section): This was actually the only thing stopping me from creating a merch clan of my own. I just wanted to raise this topic, as when the GE was introduced Jagex specifically said that price manipulation (implying merch clans) would be bannable. Once they have cleared all their stock, they announce that now is a good time to sell the item, and obviously, when the sheep herd members all sell at the same time, the price drastically crashes.Įssentially, a select few people win big, some lucky members of the clan can win small while the majority lose big (no sympathy for these people), but more importantly, the normal player who doesnt partake in any of this shit gets fucked over, in this case your average pvmer. Once the item reaches a certain price threshold, the high ranks/owners sell off their entire stock, essentially dumping their own stock on their own clan members for a profit at a very high price. The dumbass clan sheep decide to follow, buying many of the item and causing the price to skyrocket. After they have bought as many blowpipes as possible, they announce to the rest of the clan that blowpipes are the item to merch. The high ranks/owners buy an item in bulk, in this case the blowpipe. Regarding the recent drama about the BP's sudden change in prices, there is no doubt that this has been caused by a merch clan.įor anyone who doesn't know how a merch clan works, essentially it's like a pyramid scheme.
